What it is
E132 is indigo carmine, the same indigo as the textile dye. In food it's wholly synthetic, not plant-extracted.
Why it matters
Gives the distinctive blue colour to certain ice creams, sweets, and the blue smarties of yesteryear.

Always vegan.
