Hi The, Thank you for contacting . We understand you're looking for assistance with Thank you for contacting us to share your interest in our animal welfare policies; the health and safety of our consumers and the protection of animal welfare are absolute priorities for L’Oréal. L’Oréal does not test any of its products or ingredients on animals anywhere in the world and has been at the forefront of developing alternative methods for over 30 years. We are fully compliant with the European marketing ban on ingredient testing, and we have led the way in pioneering research into reconstructed skin models, such as Episkin. This innovative technology allows for rigorous in vitro safety testing, which was instrumental in making the ban on animal testing a reality. In 2014, we opened an Episkin centre in Shanghai to produce these reconstructed skin models locally, making this technology available to Chinese authorities and scientists. For over a decade, L’Oréal has been the most active company working alongside Chinese regulators to have alternative methods officially recognised, helping the industry move towards the total and definitive elimination of animal testing. As a result of these ongoing efforts, since 2014, many products manufactured and sold in China—such as shampoo, body wash, and certain make-up—are no longer tested on animals. However, it is important to note that Chinese health authorities may still decide to conduct animal tests for specific cosmetic categories. Because of these local regulatory requirements, brands present in China cannot currently carry "cruelty-free" logos, even if they do not perform any testing themselves. We remain committed to our goal of ending animal testing globally through scientific innovation and international cooperation. Rather than contact you about individual products one at a time, I was hoping you could share information that covers your full L'Oréal Paris range. Could you confirm whether all current L'Oréal Paris products are suitable for vegans — including consideration of any animal-derived ingredients (such as milk, lactose, casein, eggs, honey, gelatin, beeswax, lanolin, carmine/cochineal, animal fats, wool, silk, leather, etc), processing aids, filtration agents (isinglass, bone char, etc), animal-derived adhesives, shared equipment with non-vegan products, or animal testing? If only part of the range is vegan, a list of the exceptions would help us record this accurately. Whatever you can share will be stored in our public archive verbatim, attributed to L'Oréal Paris and dated. We won't follow up — every reply is read by a human reviewer and filed once.
